We shall remember them…

Cubs and Beavers from the 4th Oxford Scout Group joined parishioners at Cumnor Church of England Church for the service of Remembrance on Sunday 9th November 2014.   In all 18 young people took part in the parade and service.  A Beaver and a Cub laid the wreath on behalf of the Scouts alongside those of the Royal British Legion and the local community.  The Beavers paraded behind their colour (flag) to the church with the Cubs following behind their colour.  All flags were presented at the alter for the service and then collected in time to be lowered for the National Anthem.  There were many offers of congratulations for all the young people who took part for looking smart and showing respect for those fallen soldiers.  We are proud of all of them.  The Royal British Legions presented the Cubs and Beavers with special Poppy badges to be worn with pride to commemorate the event.

The Scouts were also out on parade and took part in the Ceremony of Remembrance at the Commonwealth War Grave Cemetery in Botley.
